The Alan Hotel, Manchester

About This Project

The ‘Alan’ Hotel is located on Princess Street in the heart of Manchester City Centre.

“The Alan was born from a vision of wanting to do things differently. Something experimental, fresh and with an emphasis on partnerships between artists, chefs, designers, and forward-thinkers.”

The hotel décor and ambience were a key feature in the design stage and the client’s wishes to achieve an industrial feel for all the installed hotel systems featured heavily in the brief.

Aqord designed the hotel music system with 4 zones, the main reception area, café area, restaurant area and lift lobby area. Bose DM8S speakers were mounted in the corners of each room to distribute the sound evenly across the space. Alongside the DM8S, DM10S-Subs were installed to compliment the sound as well as provide the low end for the possibility of foreground music for when DJs or live acts would come to play at the venue. The white colour of the speakers complimented the rest of the aesthetics of each room nicely.
