About This Project

Aqord designed, supplied, and commissioned the Voice Evacuation System at the Health & Safety Executive Head Offices in Bootle, Merseyside.

The Voice Evacuation System is a Multi-Zone, Networked, PAVA system with multiple amplifier racks serving over twenty individual zones across the site including Offices, Warehousing, Catering and External areas.

Ensuring the system design was fully compliant with BS5839 pt.8, Aqord selected our trusted and long-term partners Baldwin Boxall to supply the head equipment and Penton UK to supply the Voice Alarm Loudspeakers.

Clear communication of emergency messages in a large-scale office building has to be the highest priority and is a legal requirement under BS 5839 Pt.8. With the required standards in mind and ensuring the buildings aesthetics and acoustic requirements were met the Aqord Design Team completed detailed surveys prior and during the installation. This ensured the head equipment and loudspeaker design met all the required British Standards for Db levels, Frequency Response and Failsafe procedures in the event of power failure.

The commissioning process incorporated full tests of all loudspeakers, network links, microphones, emergency priorities, automated messaging and back up amplification. Completed over a period of 2 weeks the system was handed over to the client fully operational with every system aspect signed off as BS5839 compliant,

Aqord now manage the Reactive and Planned, Preventative Maintenance of the system following BS5839 Pt.8 with quarterly site visits checking every aspect of the system over the annual contract. This way Aqord provide the client with complete piece of mind that the system will operate as specified in an emergency situation.
