The new £10m Wedgwood Museum at Barlaston provides the first opportunity for the Wedgwood Museum collections to be on public view for many years. The museum enables visitors to discover the story of Wedgwood from the mid-18th century right through to the modern era, with a focus on the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship of the Wedgwood family and their employees.
Our brief was to design and commission a single zone public address system to provide live and recorded message broadcasts to the museum.
To meet the required dB levels a combination of Flush mounted ceiling loudspeakers and pendants where provided to meet the specific requirements of this particular project.
The meeting and seminar rooms required systems for the hard of hearing. After discussions with the consultant it was agreed our proposal for Infra Red Systems would be the best option, we opted for the Sennheiser SI30 radiator/modulator together with Stethoset receivers was the best option.
The education workshop required a system for the hard hearing but the room could either be two separate rooms or one large seminar room. Rather than install an AFILS which would have meant a very intricate and expensive design. It would have also been near impossible to eliminate cross talk when the room was divided. We felt the best and only option was to provide an infra red system that would operate as two separate systems of one single system. We achieved a satisfactory design by using four Sennheiser SI 30 radiator/modulators.
